I got up a bit earlier than I would have liked around 6:30 because you, Forrest, had such a big upset when you realised you wouldn't be able to play video games today. We've had to put some restrictions on it as I feel you've been on it a bit too much lately. Instead you asked if you could watch the Mario movie and I said ok. Then you asked for your hoops for breakfast because you wanted to have it while watching your favourite movie in the world.

Nixie, you wandered down around 8 saying you had another sore throat and slumped onto the sofa snuggling carli, your chimpanzee soft toy and joined Forrest in watching Mario. Once you, Forrest saw that she had her soft toy you had to go upstairs to get your climber monkey toy and then when you came back the two of you were being so sweet snuggling each other and your toys. I took this time as an opportunity to get some crocheting done. After the movie finished the three of us headed to the shop but before we could leave our driveway you, Nixie, became worried we might drive over snails so you had to quickly go and check and luckily you gave me a go ahead. Nixie, you were in charge of the shopping list while Forrest you enjoyed sitting in the shopping trolley taking care of your stuffed animals. Currently you both love getting the tokens they hand out and you both chose to support disabled access to the cat cafe, a place we still haven't visited but a place that's on our list to do so!

As soon as we got back home, the two of you ran upstairs to wake up daddy. We were going to head out straight away but it started raining quite heavily so we decided to watch an episode of is it cake in the hopes that by the time it's done it'll be perfect timing to get up and go. We also discovered that the rest  of our peacock butterflies have emerged from their chrysalises! And while You, Nixie had your first ever taste of grapefruit with daddy the two of you called me in to tell me that I would be a very horrible animal keeper as one of the butterflies had escaped and was hanging out by the window next to our pineapple plant.

I got our lunches packed and stuff organised and into the car and we were on the road by 11:45. The weather wasn't the most inspiring; overcast and a bit on the chillier side but the two of you could care less and were both excited to have a beach picnic and a play on your body boards and paddle boards.

I absolutely love it when we go over a mini roundabout and you, Nixie always need to comment on it exclaiming sarcastically that "is this even a roundabout?!? What is this just a little blob painted in the middle of the road!!" I just love your road commentary. We went across the chain link ferry in Poole to one of our new favourite spots and found parking along the side of the road. We grabbed our stuff and made our way down the path, Forrest, you happily discovered that you could use your bodyboard as a shield from all the gorse! We weren’t sure if it was going to be busy since it was a weekend but there were only a couple of people there. Daddy began straight away with blowing up his paddle board, I wanted to have my lunch first and Forrest, you just wanted your custard creams (at the moment they are your favourite thing in the world, and as long as you have access to them you are a happy little one). Nixie you decided to have a little go on your bodyboard while I was getting my paddle board blown up.

We all had a lovely time out on the water. As usual Forrest, you were with me and Nixie you went with daddy. The tide was going out so we had to walk quite aways out in silty sticky mud but once past that it felt amazing although the winds were quite strong! I really love this new hobby of ours, it really was such a great investment. I really love experiencing the water in this way and I love seeing the two of you really loving it too. After a while we all went back to the shore and had some snacks (specifically apples and almond butter along with raisins, brazil nuts and pistachios but we now call them Bra-sil nuts and Pista-chios which you, Forrest thought was incredibly funny and kept calling everything pista-chios: pista-chio mamma, pista-chio beach, pista-chio hugs etc. etc.) and then you, Nixie started to dig a hole. We actually needed to head home because we still had a lot we needed to do but you were determined that you were not leaving until you had dug your hole big enough for you to sit in. This was going to take a long while so I helped. Eventually we were on the road back home.

Forrest, you were tuckered out and fell asleep before we got home. You were in such a deep sleep and wouldn’t even wake up when I brought you inside. It was time for us all to free the last of our Peacock butterflies (well besides two who were taking their sweet time to emerge) and even this activity couldn’t really wake you up (although before we went outside we needed to catch yet another cricket that basically jumped into daddy’s lap! I don’t think you all will ever let me live it down when I put George's food into their own container only for so many of them to escape, so far we’ve probably found at least 50 of them roaming our house and we will probably find more!) Daddy carried you outside and you laid in his lap. You got up just because you needed to do a wee but then instead of that waking you up completely you went back inside and went back to sleep on the sofa. Instead you, Nixie, daddy and myself had a really special time releasing them. They are truly such beautiful little creatures.

Afterwards we went back inside and you wanted to read your “Would you rather” book and I love how much it makes you laugh! Shortly after it was time to go to Wickes to buy all the materials for the new floor that’s going to go in the dining room. Forrest, you were still asleep! It was almost impossible to wake you up. Even once I strapped you into your car seat you were still sleeping but when we arrived at Wickes you finally woke up (well mostly). It didn’t take us too long to get what we needed and we were on our way back home to make my favourite Swedish cream cake. Afterwards it was dinner and then for dessert we had a piece of my cake while watching “Is it cake?” before making our way up stairs for bed. While daddy was brushing your (Forrest) teeth Nixie, you came in with daddy’s mandalorian drawing to show us your version beside it that you’ve been working on and we were blown away! You did such an amazing job!
