This is my personal project and one that is very close to my heart: Photographing one whole day in my life, it began a few years ago on Monday Jan 1, 2018 when I did 1 day a week switching days each week which I did for two years and then for year three I only did them for each full moon and changed the format of them. Now I'm in my fourth year of doing this project, I began with the intention of doing them weekly but that hasn't been happening so I'm doing them whenever it feels right up until I reach Week 52 but still focusing on our weekends or when we are all together and have returned to my original way of doing them which is choosing 25 images for the day. Hope you enjoy following along!
Sturgeon Moon~ August~Year Three
Nixie had forest school which meant me and daddy got to have some one on one time with Forrest. We ended up going on a beautiful walk amongst the heath-land and once Nixie was back with us we ended up having an impromptu play in one of the streams while we released some more of our frogs.
Week 48 Year 2
Things seem to be changing so fast in our world at the moment and everything is feeling more and more surreal. Since last week things have escalated so quickly with this whole coronavirus epidemic....We headed to our special place in the woods today, it’s our magic place and always makes everything better...
Week 37 Year 2
Then we all had fun watching you (Forrest) practise your walking. You are getting better and better at it everyday and today you managed a whole twelve steps in a row! You really love it and have such an excited look on your face & Nixie kept getting you to laugh and you loved walking towards her outstretched arms and she's overflowing with such pride!
Week 35 Year 2
You my little Forrest just love being amongst nature where you can explore with your little fingers and put basically everything into your mouth.. I couldn't take my eyes off you for a second before you'd stuff your mouth full of old rotting acorns.. And you still love to eat moss...
Week 34 Year 2
For the past couple of months I have not been very good at keeping up with this project and have been doing it on random days.To be absolutely honest for the past couple of months I haven't been doing very well at all mentally and I realised that maybe it could be postnatal depression.
Week 31 Year 2
We all woke up just before 6:00 and that included daddy because he's working from home today. But before starting work he needs to get to brockenhurst to wait for the RAC guy to come and have a look at our car. On his way home last night it wouldn't start.
Week 28 Year 2
What a glorious day we had! We have some of our favourite people visiting from London for the week and this was our first morning together. You (Forrest) and I got up first and headed downstairs only to find Kayleigh, Rex and Zach already in the lounge, turned out they didn't have the best first night and sweet little Rex couldn't sleep so they all ended up sleeping downstairs!
Week 26 Year 2
And it is that time again for another entry for Artefact motherhood, a collaboration of artists & mothers from around the world..It was such an amazing day, I had been looking forward to this experience for such a long time! It was day 2 of our first camping trip as a family of four. Even though I barely got any sleep I woke up feeling so good, being out in the woods has a way of always making me feel better. And Nixie, you had been missing all of our camping adventures. It's something we have all missed.
Week 21 Year 2
You ended up having so many great experiences!....but i think your favourite thing was building your bug hotel, you really seem to enjoy working with wood and loved using the different kinds of drills including the powered drill and getting your face painted. If you could have your face painted everyday you’d be the happiest little girl! You just get so relaxed and love the feeling of it all, it is so sweet, you always almost fall asleep.
Week 20 Year 2
After your morning Rugby class we headed to one of our favourite spots in the woods. It was so beautiful and so peaceful where we were, it was the perfect place to be during a heatwave. We had fun playing in the streams and playing with bubbles and then enjoyed the company of our sweet friends who came to join us. Zoryan had Borsch and you had the sweetest expression on your face and looked so left out like you were thinking but what about me?!?! Nixie had your back though and asked Elina if you could have some too, I love how she’s always looking out for you and thinking about you and your needs, your relationship and connection is really blossoming!!
Week 17 Year 2
It happened to be the hottest day of the year and we had a great one! We went to our beach, had a swim in the sea, you flew a kite for the first time then we headed to the woods and played in the streams and came home and roasted marshmallows. We might have overdone it but it was worth it, it was the perfect day full of memory making.
Week 11 Year 2
Yesterday you turned four. I cannot quite believe it. Four years I have been a mumma, I still remember the first time we met as if it were yesterday. You came out into this world with bright red hair, your name was truly meant for you, you are our Phoenix, our little firebird. You are the greatest spiritual guide I’ve ever had, you inspire me to become the best version of myself and I feel so blessed that you chose us as your parents. Thank you for being you.
