I am looking for a few different families with diverse backgrounds for a newborn session within the first week of baby being born. You will need to answer a few questions about your feelings and the experiences you have had throughout your pregnancy leading up to the birth and after.
When we are a mother to more than one child it can be so hard to find the time and space to give each of them some special one on one time and this is what this session was all about. It was all about capturing the love between Laura and her eldest, the one who made her a mother.
I am so incredibly excited that a part of my MILK project has been featured in the Autumn issue of Juno Magazine. I feel it is important to honour and celebrate our journeys truthfully. By sharing our stories through words and images we empower ourselves and others. Natural Term Breastfeeding is something I am incredibly passionate about and wish to help normalise through my work.
Welcome to ARTEFACT MOTHERHOOD - a project shared with other international female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs and words.
This was such an incredible session and one that I will always hold close to my heart. As soon as I entered their home I felt myself be washed over with the most beautiful rays of love. I know how that may sound but it is absolutely true! Their love between each other was so palpable that it radiated outwards and bathed me in it too. I Am forever grateful for these two beautiful souls.
I have always wanted to have the opportunity to photograph a twin newborn session and when Charlotte & her husband Rob invited me into their home to do just that I was overjoyed! This was also my first at-home newborn session since lockdown and words can't express how happy it felt to be back in this space.
I love observing the way that the beautiful tenderness unfolds in a mama's heart. When I first showed her some of the photos one of the first things she said was "I absolutely love the one of my scars, now, I never thought I would say that." That is what these intimate sessions are all about, they can be healing and an empowering experience.
This month's theme for our little portrait loop was flowers and it couldn't have come at a better time since right now the New Forest is covered in blankets of the most beautiful hues of pinks and purples.
And it's that time again for our Portrait Blog Circle! was really excited about this month's "Details" theme because capturing the little details during a sessions happens to be one of my favourite things. I can guarantee you that when you have a session with me your gallery will be filled with the little details of a moment.
We are still in love with foraging and learning as much as we can. We've made cordial and jams out of Elderflower and Honeysuckle. Cookies out of White Clover but what we have really gotten into is the world of salve making and we have made healing salves out of Yarrow and Plantain along with a bunch more.
