Very recently I had the honour of connecting with artist & maker Lilly & her daughter Elfie for my MILK project. She is the incredibly inspiring woman behind La Madre Silver who's work I had already been following for quite some time over on Instagram.
She went through her surges quietly, completely in her own world on the threshold of the divine. She seemed to be in the most profound and sacred trance, a communion between her and her son. Moments like these take my breath away. To be able to bear witness to these awe inspiring moments is not something I take for granted. It is truly the most incredible honour of my life.
It's been a few weeks since I put my new Milk project into the world and I just want to say I am blown away by all of the emails I have received from people all over the UK wanting to take part . So many of you have shared pieces of your hearts with me and for that I am truly honoured.
On this sunday afternoon I'm sitting here reflecting on some of my favourite newborn sessions, I can't believe I have never shared this session and that it was almost a year ago. I can't believe it was one year ago today that I was taking the ferry across to Isle of Wight to spend time with the sweetest couple, Rosie & Josh for their pregnancy session to only return about a month later to meet their gorgeous little Joseph.
I’ve been working on my MILK project for the past three years and I am now turning it into a book. I am in search of mothers who are breastfeeding children 3 years and up. It is my hope that through this book we will help normalise natural term breastfeeding and empower others who are on a similar path to keep going.
In honour of World Breastfeeding week which will be taking place this year on Aug 1-7 and coninciding with my recent published piece on natural term breastfeeding in the late summer issue of Juno Magazine I will be offering breastfeeding mini photo sessions.
After having the honour of being at & documenting Wilbur's birth it felt extra sweet seeing them a week later for their newborn session.
I am now offering Pony & Me sessions! If you would like some portraits done with your horse please do get in touch, I would love to chat!
I cannot believe this was already a year ago, it feels like yesterday when I received the call from Cherie that they were heading to the hospital and that it was time for me to make my way over there.
I absolutely love taking families on mini adventures where we are surrounded by awe-inspiring backdrops and this session at Lulworth Cove, Dorset could not have been more perfect.
From the moment we exchanged emails I knew they were my kind of people and couldn't have been more excited to travel to the Isle of Wight to create some memories for them of this very special time in their life.
