Now that the schools have officially closed here in the UK, and with more people self-isolating, under full lockdown, or practising social distancing I I decided to put together a little something that may help some of you if you are finding it hard to think of things to do with your kids with all of the added pressures you may be facing.
The March Portrait Loop: Artificial Light
This month's portrait loop is all about artificial light, and for this I wanted to do something in nature with candles...This past week as the world is going a bit crazy, and feeling increasingly surreal, the forest has been my solace. Mother Nature has brought lightness to where there was heaviness, and peace to where there was anxiousness. My equilibrium has been restored.

Being out in the woods is one of my favourite things and combine that with getting to photograph and spend time with Cher, an incredible mama who is 37 weeks pregnant and her beautiful family is my version of a perfect afternoon.We met up in the afternoon and had our fingers crossed that it would stay dry, we already had to cancel once due to the weather.
Roots + Wings Magazine~ Portrait & Branding Photography New Forest
Sometimes you come along a project that just makes your soul rejoice and Roots and Wings is that project. It's a quarterly print magazine all about empowering and inspiring women to embrace their authentic selves. The women behind it Laura Lewis and Hannah Luna Rose are a force of nature having poured their hearts souls and spirits into this new publication. I really believe this is what the world needs more of, a magazine that lifts women up instead of tearing each other down.

Sometimes magic happens when you least expect it. We did not plan these images, they just happened in the most beautifully organic way as we spoke about our love for nature, the human body and all the magic we possess. As we passed by a beautiful fallen tree that was covered in the softest of moss creating the perfect place to lay on she became inspired and brave so we decided to create some images right then and there. It was perfect.

At first I wasn't going to use this image, it felt too much like a snapshot but then I changed my mind because this is a really honest depiction of our life at the moment. You, Forrest, attached to my boob and feeling poorly & Nixie, you reaching out wanting to be close & me feeling tired on a level I haven't felt since you Forrest were a newborn.

I still remember how I felt when I held you and your sister in my arms together for the first time, it was like the floodgates of a sea of love came pouring out with such intensity,

A few weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of spending a lazy sunday morning with Casey, Josh and their sweet baby girl Niyah in Southampton before they headed off in their converted horse trailer travelling the country attending festivals. The love and connection they shared was palpable. I love seeing a woman come into her new role as a mumma so effortlessly and naturally.
A Day in My Life: Year One
On February 13, 2019 just over 13 months after the my first day of shooting I completed my first Project 52/A Day In My Life/Year One. There's a real satisfaction I feel from having stuck with it. I know the sadness of not being able to have access to these early memories, my mother has Alzheimer's and she has no memories of my childhood and through her I have been reminded how important our memories truly are but also how fragile they can be and that is the biggest reason for why I decided to do this project: so that my own children will always have access to these early memories of their lives.
