This morning I woke up to the news that one of my images I had submitted to the international Documentary Family Awards actually placed third place in the Black Lives Matter category! 

This year has been the year where I have consciously been trying to put myself out there. I am incredibly honoured and grateful to have my work recognised by some of the top photographers in the field. To be amongst such incredible photographers who also placed an award or a mention is something I still can't quite believe! 

And thank you to all the families who allow me into their lives and give me the honour of preserving memories for them. Thank you for letting me do what I love to do. And thank you Charlie for letting me in to your beautiful world where I we able to capture this particular moment.
