I cannot believe one year has gone by since I first met sweet baby Cora. What a beautiful honour it has been to watch her grow up from a tiny newborn to a little girl over this past year.
This morning I woke up to the news that one of my images I had submitted to the international Documentary Family Awards actually placed third place in the Black Lives Matter category!
I have always wanted to have the opportunity to photograph a twin newborn session and when Charlotte & her husband Rob invited me into their home to do just that I was overjoyed! This was also my first at-home newborn session since lockdown and words can't express how happy it felt to be back in this space.
It's the end of world breastfeeding week so I thought I'd put together a little blog post of some of my favourite nursing photos that I've taken.
And it's that time again for our Portrait Blog Circle! was really excited about this month's "Details" theme because capturing the little details during a sessions happens to be one of my favourite things. I can guarantee you that when you have a session with me your gallery will be filled with the little details of a moment.
So much of our world has changed due to the corona virus & currently it is no longer a possibility to hire a photographer to come and take your newborn photos but this shouldn't stop anyone from being able to capture those precious fleeting moments on their own so I thought I would create a little blog post to help parents do just that by sharing some basic tips.
I cannot believe it has been over three months ago just a couple of days before the winter solstice ago that I got to meet little Juniper, what an incredibly special session it was and one that I will always remember. I had already had an incredibly inspiring maternity session with Beccy in the forest when she was 40 weeks + 2 days pregnant.
When I first met Cherrie and her family she was 40 weeks plus 6 days pregnant and so very much ready to meet the newest member of their beautiful family. I had a wonderful time photographing her with 19 month old daughter Ettie and soon to be big sister.
A few weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of spending a lazy sunday morning with Casey, Josh and their sweet baby girl Niyah in Southampton before they headed off in their converted horse trailer travelling the country attending festivals. The love and connection they shared was palpable. I love seeing a woman come into her new role as a mumma so effortlessly and naturally.
I wanted to share a mini session I did towards the end of last autumn where I had the honours of meeting the beautiful baby Franklin, just two weeks old. If I could photograph newborns everyday of my life I would be so happy! I love capturing all the little moments that take place with the arrival of a new baby, I love seeing the interactions between siblings and witnessing the ever expanding love in mom and dad's face.
Maternity and newborn sessions make my heart happy and when I'm able to document both for a family it fills my heart with such joy. I absolutely love capturing a woman during her last few weeks of pregnancy, it really is such a magical time in ones life.
