Day In My Life

This is my personal project and one that is very close to my heart: Photographing one whole day in my life, it began a few years ago on Monday Jan 1, 2018 when I did 1 day a week switching days each week which I did for two years and then for year three I only did them for each full moon and changed the format of them. Now I'm in my fourth year of doing this project, I began with the intention of doing them weekly but that hasn't been happening so I'm doing them whenever it feels right up until I reach Week 52 but still focusing on our weekends or when we are all together and have returned to my original way of doing them which is choosing 25 images for the day. Hope you enjoy following along!

After we finished some chores (feeding the tadpoles, putting away the blow up bed from when our friends were here, doing some laundry and a bit of tidying) we had made plans with some of our favourite people in the world to head to the woods for a picnic

You (Forrest) like to wake up every 90 min to nurse, but you seemed a lot more settled through the night than the past few days so that made me happy, you're favourite way to fall back asleep is on my chest, sometimes if I try putting you down next to me you start really screaming at me. I hate seeing you uncomfortable and in pain, you've been having lots of wind due to me having an oversupply of milk and a crazy fast letdown

Today was hard. It was a very unusual day and definitely not one of our better days. We had one of the worst nights, I did not get any sleep whatsoever, other than maybe 5-10 minutes here and there. For some reason you decided not to go to bed and stayed up all night long!

And it is that time again for another entry for Artefact motherhood, a beautiful blog circle which is a collaboration of artists & mothers from around the world sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey... I can't believe that it's been one week today that Forrest entered our lives. It's gone by way too quickly, I wish there was a way to slow down these fleeting newborn days.

(We didn't know at the time but this day was our last day as a family of three!) Life is feeling so good at the moment. I've been sleeping pretty good and you haven't been getting me up at crazy hours, this morning we went downstairs around 6:30. You've been extra cuddly and throughout the night you've just wanted me to hold you so tight which gives me the cosiest feeling, I do so love sleeping all snuggled up with you

It was one of those days that started a bit tough and where I felt a bit heavy-hearted but by the end of the day a huge shift had taken place I felt entirely different . It's amazing how things can change so quickly!

We've had such a beautiful day together, didn't go anywhere or see anyone but just stayed home and played all day. We've been in such a beautiful flow completely in sync with each other, we were in my favourite space, our love bubble. There were lots of cuddles & lots of laughter and everything felt really easy and perfect. Days like today I think are the rewards and hidden gifts and blessings of motherhood, it's those days where your life feels perfect.

Today was an awfully sad day. We ended up having to say goodbye to one of our cats, Majnoon. But it started like any other day, we woke up around 5:45 I was a little worried I was going to have a high reading because for the past week my fasting levels have been rising (still within normal but rising)

The other day while in the car I had noticed a path that we hadn't explored next to one of the streams along Rhinefield Dr. and I felt so drawn to it that it had to be where we went for today's walk. I love living here and always discovering new places with you, it's pure magic

We had a quick lunch and then it was time to head out to get our love tree, finally! It had been delayed twice, both on Sat & Sun, we just felt too rough & couldn't muster enough energy to go get it, we are still lacking in energy but it had to happen today as it's tradition we put it up first weekend in Dec and plus daddy has the day off!
