Day In My Life

This project is incredibly personal and very close to my heart: photographing an entire day in my life. I began this journey back in 2018 and have never stopped since. In the beginning, I committed to capturing one full day every week for a whole year, faithfully documenting each moment. Over time, my approach has become more intuitive—I now photograph these days whenever the mood strikes me. Sometimes it’s weekly, sometimes more often, and other times weeks go by before I feel drawn to them again.

Once I collect 52 entries, I turn them into books—my most treasured keepsakes. If our house were ever to catch fire and everyone was safe, these are the things I would make sure to save. They truly are the greatest gift I’ve given to my family.

When the kids were younger, I shared all of my “Day In My Life” sessions openly, but as they’ve grown, I’ve chosen to keep these moments private—just for us. Below are a few of my favorite memories from the past.

What a gorgeous day we had! It began with discovering that our Oak Eggar Moth had come out of his cocoon and then we headed over to Exbury Gardens so that Forrest could ride the steam train. After that we went home and played some games and ate dinner before heading out again to our little beach and to release our moth who was finally ready to use his wings.

What an incredible day we had! It is day three of our five day holiday to the Isle of Wight and our day started with a little adventure at the beach and then we headed to Blackgang Chine for the second day in a row. We ended our day with another evening at the beach exploring the low tide. An absolutely perfect day! This is also my entry for Artefact Motherhood a project shared with other international female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs and words.

It’s our third year coming to Stonehenge for the Solstice and there’s always such a magical feeling in the air walking towards them in the dark. I had goosebumps and felt a little emotional, I felt a deep sense of peace and was surrounded by such beautiful energies. When we arrived at the stones we laid out our blanket and had a little picnic.

What a glorious day we had! We have some of our favourite people visiting from London for the week and this was our first morning together. You (Forrest) and I got up first and headed downstairs only to find Kayleigh, Rex and Zach already in the lounge, turned out they didn't have the best first night and sweet little Rex couldn't sleep so they all ended up sleeping downstairs!

And it is that time again for another entry for Artefact motherhood, a collaboration of artists & mothers from around the world..It was such an amazing day, I had been looking forward to this experience for such a long time! It was day 2 of our first camping trip as a family of four. Even though I barely got any sleep I woke up feeling so good, being out in the woods has a way of always making me feel better. And Nixie, you had been missing all of our camping adventures. It's something we have all missed.

Wow. What an incredible day we had! We decided to have a day trip to the Isle of Wight and it was a day full of the most beautiful human moments. There's nothing better than experiencing a place for the first time and we had such an incredible little hike to Freshwater Bay where we spent hours exploring the rock pools before it was time to head back to catch the ferry back home.

I can't believe that it's been one week today that Forrest entered our lives. It's gone by way too quickly, I wish there was a way to slow down these fleeting newborn days.

The other day while in the car I had noticed a path that we hadn't explored next to one of the streams along Rhinefield Dr. and I felt so drawn to it that it had to be where we went for today's walk. I love living here and always discovering new places with you, it's pure magic

Today was an incredible day & it was day 4 of our last camping trip of the year. I woke up before the two of you and felt such bliss watching you sleep, I felt so grateful for all the experiences I get to share with you both. The other bed broke just as we were going to bed last night so we all squeezed in and cuddled up on one and surprisingly it was super cosy!
