This is my personal project and one that is very close to my heart: Photographing one whole day in my life, it began a few years ago on Monday Jan 1, 2018 when I did 1 day a week switching days each week which I did for two years and then for year three I only did them for each full moon and changed the format of them. Now I'm in my fourth year of doing this project, I began with the intention of doing them weekly but that hasn't been happening so I'm doing them whenever it feels right up until I reach Week 52 but still focusing on our weekends or when we are all together and have returned to my original way of doing them which is choosing 25 images for the day. Hope you enjoy following along!
Week 24 Year 2
Once we had everything ready for our day out we all piled into our car. It was another heat wave day and a bank holiday weekend so as predicted we got stuck in traffic. We were on our way first to corfe castle and it should have taken an hour and a half but instead took over two hours. You were singing the yellow submarine by the Beatles over and over
Week 23 Year 2
It wasn’t a very nice day out, very dark, wet and gloomy so we ended up having a relaxing day at home being creative and playing. You (Nixie) come up with the coolest things and I absolutely love hearing the thoughts you have, for instance one of the random thoughts you shared with me was how we should make blood juice for mosquitoes...
Week 22 Year 2
I've been so conscious of the passing of time again, I want to just savour, slow down and cherish this time in our lives. You are growing up so quickly and it feels so bittersweet. I've been getting these lumps in my throat and knots in my stomach when I look at you and your sister sometimes...
Week 21 Year 2
You ended up having so many great experiences!....but i think your favourite thing was building your bug hotel, you really seem to enjoy working with wood and loved using the different kinds of drills including the powered drill and getting your face painted. If you could have your face painted everyday you’d be the happiest little girl! You just get so relaxed and love the feeling of it all, it is so sweet, you always almost fall asleep.
Week 20 Year 2
After your morning Rugby class we headed to one of our favourite spots in the woods. It was so beautiful and so peaceful where we were, it was the perfect place to be during a heatwave. We had fun playing in the streams and playing with bubbles and then enjoyed the company of our sweet friends who came to join us. Zoryan had Borsch and you had the sweetest expression on your face and looked so left out like you were thinking but what about me?!?! Nixie had your back though and asked Elina if you could have some too, I love how she’s always looking out for you and thinking about you and your needs, your relationship and connection is really blossoming!!
Week 19 Year 2
Wow. What an incredible day we had! We decided to have a day trip to the Isle of Wight and it was a day full of the most beautiful human moments. There's nothing better than experiencing a place for the first time and we had such an incredible little hike to Freshwater Bay where we spent hours exploring the rock pools before it was time to head back to catch the ferry back home.
Week 17 Year 2
It happened to be the hottest day of the year and we had a great one! We went to our beach, had a swim in the sea, you flew a kite for the first time then we headed to the woods and played in the streams and came home and roasted marshmallows. We might have overdone it but it was worth it, it was the perfect day full of memory making.
Week 16 Year 2
Even though our day ended up being a bit of dramatic one, the end of the longest day of the year couldn’t have been more perfect. We had cake, roasted marshmallows, we even spent time writing down things we want to let go of and then putting them into the fire and then we also talked about our hopes and dreams and wrote down wishes to send out into the universe. It was just such a perfect evening, Forrest fell asleep in my lap and the rest of us stayed up way after the sun had gone down watching and listening to the birds flying overhead. I went to bed feeling so happy and blissful. My heart felt full.
Week 15 Year 2
After a couple of hours Forrest was ready for another nap so back in the wrap he went. It's another grey, gloomy, rainy day so we decided to be lazy and watch a movie, you had requested the secret life of pets. He woke up just after the movie finished and we wrapped some of your fathers day gifts that had dried & then you wanted to paint some more pictures for daddy. While you were doing this, you, Forrest, were busy talking to me and we had some great cuddles. You love to make sounds and you love when my face is super close to yours, it just makes you giggle.
Week 14 Year 2
It was a pretty good day we spent the morning in the garden creating and then went on a walk to some woods close by to visit the sand hills. Afterwards we hung out at home before heading back out to run some errands.
Week 13 Year 2
After running some errands, it was one of those lazy days at home creating and baking and if I wasn't trying to get Forrest to sleep I was trying to keep both of you happy. It was a day of trying to find the balance.
Week 12 Year 2
It was such a great day! Everything flowed so beautifully and we spent the morning with friends at Goodalls Strawberry Farm and you scooted the whole way and the rest of the day was spent reading and doing crafts. It was one of those days where at the end I felt so fulfilled.
