This is my personal project and one that is very close to my heart: Photographing one whole day in my life, it began a few years ago on Monday Jan 1, 2018 when I did 1 day a week switching days each week which I did for two years and then for year three I only did them for each full moon and changed the format of them. Now I'm in my fourth year of doing this project, I began with the intention of doing them weekly but that hasn't been happening so I'm doing them whenever it feels right up until I reach Week 52 but still focusing on our weekends or when we are all together and have returned to my original way of doing them which is choosing 25 images for the day. Week 20 Year 4
For some reason I didn't sleep very well last night and kept tossing and turning. I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with today being my last day in Sweden and it being the last time I get to spend with my mamma for I don't know how long. Even though I woke up feeling a bit tired I enjoyed the stillness and the quiet of the morning....With everything that's happened these past few weeks, this solo time has given my body, mind and spirit a bit of space to just be rather than being constantly on the go and constantly being needed.
Week 19 Year 4
Afterwards you and I went for a little walk to our local woods to see if we could find any moss. We haven't had a chance to do any of our little naturalist projects yet as it's a bit tricky with Forrest in a cast all the way up to his thigh and being without a car. It felt really nice to have some one on one time with you.
Week 18 Year 4
Today was a let's all snuggle up together and watch movies kind of day. I just want to hold you all so close. I'm still recovering from the overwhelmingly intense week that we've had which has left my nervous system in complete tatters and I really am in need of a self care day.
Week 17 Year 4
We all got up fairly early this morning and rushed to get ready for a little trip to Weymouth sea life aquarium. I felt really bad that our Halloween party had to be cancelled yesterday and that the whole weekend is full of heavy rain which doesn't really give us a chance to wear our costumes outside so thought a trip a bit further a Field would be the perfect way to make it up to you and be able to go out in our costumes. All of us have costumes except for daddy but when I was getting you two into the car we decided that daddy was dressed as a human.
Week 16 year 4
We just got home last night from an amazing couple of days in London and you both were so tired and fell asleep pretty effortlessly but this morning you, Forrest woke up around 6:30 and usually you and I would just head downstairs but today is a special day as it's your 1000 day bday and it's Nixie's 2351 day bday and me and daddy decorated the lounge and got you both a couple of presents so we had to wait until Nixie woke up.
Week 15 Year 4
After daddy got up and we all ate breakfast and got dressed we headed out to have a little walk over by Highcliffe castle. We were there for the first time with some friends yesterday and really loved it and we really wanted to share it with daddy.
Week 14 Year 4
After you finished your doughnut you had some wotsits and that was when your third tooth came out!! It was so exciting! I love that it came out at our special tree. You have been waiting for this tooth to come out for months now and you have another one that is so close to coming out.
Week 13 Year 4
Today was an incredibly exhausting day but also a really good one. After two nights camping in Pembroke, south wales & 4 nights camping in Betws y coed, north wales and two nights at our beautiful friend Danni’s house in Rhos on Sea today was the day our welsh adventures come to an end and we begin the long journey home.
Week 12 Year 4
We woke up all snuggled together just as the sun was rising from our first night camping in druidstone, South Wales. We arrived yesterday afternoon and words can't express how incredibly good it feels to be sleeping outside again. I'm so happy we were able to make this trip and create some more amazing family memories. We are staying at clifftop campsite and the view is just incredible, there's something that feels so freeing about waking up to a sea view.
Week 11 Year 4
Once we finished with our chores and after a quick lunch we decided to see if any of the elderflower trees had any berries and we were all so pleasantly surprised! I was worried that we were going to be late and miss our chance this year and I really need to make us some medicine! It was thanks to our elderberry tincture we made last year that we didn’t get a single cold...
Week 10 Year 4
Once we arrived at the fairy festival and started walking up the field to wait in the queue to get in Forrest, you kept trying to pull me so we could go back to the car, you did not like what you were seeing, women on stilts with fairy wings, people dressed up in amazing costumes which in your mind I'm guessing you thought were real. There was a man dressed up as a mushroom and I particularly loved his costume but you seemed so frightened that I had to carry you and you clung on to me like a baby koala.
Week 9 Year 4
I still can't believe that last Thursday I passed my driving test after what seemed like a never ending journey! Our whole lives have changed, it feels so surreal and I'm still processing it all. But tonight we had our very first solo drive just the two of us to our little beach. It felt so incredible to be able to just hop in the car with you!
